Reviews
I don’t know why I haven’t been here before! Great location right up the street from Washington Park with a laid back vibe. You first grab your drinks from the refrigerator (beer, soda, water, etc.). You then order at the counter, where they will give you a table number. Find your own seat, and they bring the food to you. The service was quick and the servers were kind and attentive. Most importantly, the burgers were great! They are “smash” burgers. They had plenty of seasoning and the toppings were fresh. The fries were crispy while being soft and fluffy on the inside and well seasoned like the burgers. Overall, I thought the prices were reasonable. If you’re looking for a quick and inexpensive bite in the OTR area, this is the place for you.
The smash style cheeseburgers were delicious! Fresh and juicy meat with a good amount of cheese. Loved the crispy, seasoned fries so much I ate my niece's extras when she got full. We tried the regular milkshakes, and they were delicious! Our friends who joined us got the boozy shakes and loved them.
Cute little casual place with some small booths and tables for seating. You order when you arrive and they give you a number to bring to your table. The staff was friendly. I will definitely be back next time I'm craving a smash burger.
The only thing that could use some improvement is the special sauce. I didn't think it tasted like anything special. Mostly just tasted like mayo.
Located in Over-the-Rhine, Milkman is an upscale lunch and dinner diner-style restaurant. They are on Race Street just south of Washington Park.
Orders are placed at the counter. The menu features "juicy burgers," fried chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, nuggets, and boozy shakes. If you don't want a boozy shake, there are unalcoholic versions available as well, in addition to canned/bottled beer, soda, juice, etc. all available to grab yourself just before you place your order.
The food is cooked to order but comes out really fast! I was happy to see that they have fried chicken sandwiches on the menu since I don't eat burgers. The club with swiss, bacon, shredded lettuce, tomato, and garlic herb mayo ($11.99) was really good. The thicken was thick and juicy and the sauce was great. The buffalo and damn hot chicken sandwiches are also very good. It's hard to go wrong.
As far as boozy shakes go, I recommend the Grasshopper with bourbon, creme de menthe, chocolate chips, and whipped cream ($12.99). However, I think it is hard to go wrong with any of their choices.
My only complaint is that prices are a little high since the sandwiches do not come with a side dish, but I recommend sharing the order of fries or onion rings anyway, making the prices not too bad. This is a great place to bring your kids and we will for sure be back for more.
Unfortunately the food was very salty. The burgers are good, but I think they are overpriced for what they are. The shakes are good, and the service is very friendly and fast. I don’t know if I’d go back just because of the prices for what you get.
One of our favorite meals while in Cincy for a weekend birthday trip. We stopped in around 10 PM on a Saturday after getting out of the ballet. It was the perfect late night meal.
My husband had a spicy burger, I had the Buffalo “chicken” (tofu) sandwich, we split fries, and each got a milkshake. The seasoning, temperature, and flavor combos were spot on for everything! I was especially enthralled with the Buffalo sandwich. Being a long time vegetarian, I’m pretty picky about replacement “meats” and this one nailed it. Loved the crispness of it! Highly recommend.
The place was clean and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Everything you want in a local diner style spot. If we’re ever back in town, it’ll be our first stop
We had ‘Damn Hot’ fried tofu, and tofu nuggets, fries, Jarritos and an Oreo shake. The Damn hot fried tofu sandwich was just AWESOME. The best thing I’ve had in a few months. The nuggets were okay not extraordinary. The Jarritos fruit punch flavour I tried for the first time and I loved it. The Oreo shake was good but again, nothing extraordinary. Would want to go back for the Damn hot fried tofu sandwich. 🤩
Haven't had a burger in some time and wanted something good.... So I got the spicy double burger and fries. It was good!! Just the right amount of heat and flavor. The fries were delicious, Crispy and seasons right. To my surprise they had a dipping sauce for the fries, and yes it was good.... Smash burgers! This is a must try if you are in the downtown area.
We went on a Thursday afternoon between lunch and dinner so there was no wait to order and our food was delivered to our table quickly.
We tried the burger and fried chicken sandwich and both were delicious! The fried chicken with the crispy outside and plump inside was probably my favorite of the two.
The space is nice with booths, tables, and outdoor dining.
The restrooms were lovely- clean, spacious, the toilet paper dispenser isn’t so close to the bowl you’re leg is touching it, and a plant on the sink adds a nice touch!
I know most don’t read reviews for the restrooms, but we all need them and some of them are downright tragic even in newly renovated spaces.
